Flavia García (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine-Canadian poet, translator, singer-songwriter, and professor. She has lived in Montreal (Quebec) for more than three decades. She holds a master’s degree from McGill University and has studied Quebec literature and the German language at the Université de Montréal. She is a board member of the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques, La poésie partout, and the Parlement des écrivaines francophones (PEF). Her poetic work explores themes related to memory, migration, sisterhood, and contemporary social issues. She has published the poetry collections such as Fouiller les décombres (Mémoire d’encrier, 2021), finalist for the Prix des Libraires du Québec, and Hermanas (Triptyque, 2025). She has also contributed to numerous collective works, including Montréal, j’ai quelque chose à te dire (2017), Allers simples / Sin retorno (2021), and Arracher les frontières (2025). As a translator, she has rendered into French works of contemporary Argentine poetry, including Don Avide (Ávido don) by Claudia Shvartz (2015) and the Anthologie de la poésie argentine contemporaine (Triptyque, 2017). Her translations and poems have appeared in journals such as Exit, XYZ, Estuaire, Hablar de poesía, Le Sabord, Apulée, Moebius, and L’inconvénient. Alongside her literary work, she develops musical projects as a singer-songwriter and performer of her own compositions. She has presented poetry and music performances, including Partir ou mourir un peu plus loin and Fouiller les décombres, in collaboration with José Maria Gianelli and under the direction of Francine Alepin. Her discography includes the album La gente de mi ciudad and the ongoing project Soror. In 2021, she was a finalist for the Prix des Libraires, and in 2025, she received the Prix Geneviève Amyot in poetry.
